Chief Advisor Position on the Construction of a New Nuclear Power Plant in East Pennsboro.

As you know, TMI was safely decommissioned last year and is no longer producing energy. An energy company wants to build a power plant in East Pennsboro Township. I believe making a power plant is a terrible idea, and I have many reasons.
There is a huge environmental impact in power plants. Nuclear power plants run on uranium, and mining and refining uranium can be very hazardous. When the uranium is done being used, you can’t just get rid of it and put in the trash. It is very radioactive and toxic, so it will have to be exposed properly.
A nuclear accident could occur, and could cause a chain reaction, which is a chemical reaction in which chemicals

After watching Scottsboro An American Tragedy, the reason why the NAACP didn't want this case and the communist did was fairly simple. I.L.D "international labor defense" worked hand in hand with the communist party of the United States of America. This particular group was formed in the early 1920's, and was created to counter groups such as Ku Klux Klan and defend high profile cases. The communist were the first to initiate organized action on the behalf of blacks. When representatives from the communist party attended the first trial in Scottsboro, they then realized the case could potentially energize a large constituency.…

During this period, the social division was evident in the financial difficulties of individuals that led to a rise in human trafficking. Men and women would ride trains all over the country looking for jobs and many women were in such financial difficulties that they had to sell sex to survive. In response, the Mann Act was passed, which outlawed travel for prostitution and human trafficking. Political and racial division was evident in the courtrooms across the country as a conflict of democracy and communism arose.…

Although critics may claim that nuclear energy does not emit carbon dioxide into the environment, it is clear that it is an example of a modern day Frankenstein as it can ultimately have catastrophic effects on humanity due to nuclear waste, radiation, and cost. While people may argue that nuclear energy is a clean energy source, it produces nuclear waste, which is potentially even worse than carbon emissions in the long run. This is evident as the Department of Energy determined that “more than 85,000 metric tons” of waste is being stored across the country (Nuclear). In other words, while nuclear energy does not produce carbon dioxide, it still creates potentially devastating byproducts. However, unlike carbon dioxide, people have to actively maintain and store nuclear waste as it is extremely dangerous.…

In the report on the Scottsboro trials case, that Miss Hollace Ransdall’s created, there was an unfair trial with an unfair result, both of which were not fair to the negroes. Firstly, the two girls stated that they spent the night at Mrs. Brochie’s house. However, in the investigation failed to discover Miss Brochie or the house that she lived in. This is irrelevant to the story but it does immediately give Victoria a reputation. It tells the judge right from the beginning, that there is a very great chance she is a liar.…

Three mile island is a very important nuclear generating station. We depend on this resource for electricity, electricity is highly important to us because we use it for everything. The government is considering shutting it down, because it hasn't been profitable for the past five years! My opinion is the government shouldn't shut down TMI because, They are actually benefiting from it because it gives the state $1.1million a year for property taxes. If we continue to have it open then we can build more schools and make us a better society.…

This contrasts to coal fired units which emit copious amounts of substances that aren’t immediately deadly, and didn’t require immediate attention when they were first created thus leading to the environmental state we’re currently in. even though it’s true that nuclear fallout can be a serious problem, many reactors have several containment precautions. Even the incident at Three Mile Island which scared a nation into halting production of nuclear energy was mostly contained, and there have been no identifiable negative health effects [9]. Even considering the amount of current deaths because of both nuclear and fossil fuels, studies show that the amount of energy being produced by nuclear power instead of fossil fuels has actually saved tens of thousands of lives. The study estimated that for each terawatt hour of electricity produced, an average of 26.67 lives are lost whereas a terawatt hour of nuclear electricity kills an average of 0.074 people (stats relevant for Europe)…

The most common material used is Uranium as it is a clean and effective way to boil water to make steam which drives turbine generators. Nuclear energy has its pros and cons, it is very risky to have these plants built in populated areas as there have been many accident of disasters involving nuclear energy. The pros of using this type of energy source is that it doesn 't pollute that much when creating energy as it releases hot steam. Some disadvantages of nuclear energy is that accidents can happen and there could be nuclear disasters, the radioactive waste released from the atom when it’s completed the process of fission and nuclear energy can be used to create powerful weapons and in the wrong hands it could end very badly. Nuclear energy is used in society to give power to 10.9 percent of the worlds energy…
