Most people use mood altering drugs because the effects of drugs and alcohol help you

relax. Some use it to escape from pain of the past. But the reality is, getting high doesn 't change

the world you live in or the emotions you have. Or you may be feeling pressure from your

friends or classmates, sometimes you might just be curious about what using a drug would be

like. It just changes, for a short time, on how you see that world, and it can dull the painful

emotions. People deny the dangers of drug use and some are just curious about them. Drugs can

Substances can feel good in the beginning,

but in the long run they can do a lot of harm to the body and brain. Drinking alcohol, smoking

tobacco, taking illegal drugs, and sniffing glue can all cause serious damage to your body. There

are many drugs that severely impair one’s ability to make healthy decisions. While you’re high,

there never seems like there are consequences to your drug use. However, there can be negative

effects of using. A few ways that drugs can affect a person’s life, would be having unprotected

sex. While you’re under the influence, you might be less likely to remember to have safe sex.

Unprotected sex can lead to pregnancy or the spread of STDs. Drugs can ruin every aspect of a

person 's life. Sharing needles from injecting certain types of drugs can put you at major risk for

getting diseases like Hepatitis C, Hepatitis B. These diseases are spread through the transmission

of body fluids. . And thirdly, being under the influence of drugs could increase your chances of

Heroin is one of the most dangerous in use.

Overdose is the main cause of death with the use of Heroin. Heart attack is next because it puts a

tremendous strain on the heart.

No parent should have to bury their child, no child should have to see their parent buried.

No wife of only eleven years should become a widow due to drugs. Mike was young man that

worked hard to support his family, was full of life and happy. He was a great dad to his children.

Mike’s addiction started with pain pills then he turned to heroin. Mike decided to get clean and

entered rehab, so he could find the happiness and be there for his family. He was doing great till

he started taking pain pills for a toothache, which inevitably lead him right back into addiction.

He was so sure he could handle this and could stop on his own. Well Mike was wrong heroin had

taken his life. Mike was a young man that had lost his battle to drugs. Now his family is left to

mourn the loss of a son, a brother, a father, a husband and a friend. Drugs can ruin every
