The fact that she comes from the beer world, I believe selling beer is more important than the safety of others. Due to the devastating effects that result from drinking and driving, it is vital to consider looking for ways that may reduce or better eliminate incidents of drinking and driving. In this article, the author tries to convey that the United States Congress should lower the BAC to 0.8 from 0.10. She provides the reader with a graph that shows how deaths on the roadway have gone down since 1983. But lowering the BAC over the past few years really been the only reason deaths have gone down. Over the past few years’ cars have become safer and speed limits have dropped in highly populated areas. To say that deaths have dropped in traffic related accidents because of the stricter BAC laws is outrageous. There are many factors as to why traffic related deaths are down, and car safety is a big one. Later, in her article, she mentions how deaths how dropped nearly 13% in a year since the new law, and 7,000 lives are being saved each year.
