Using choice words the author portrayed a sense of relief which in turn assured the audience that the eBooks could work for them as well. The author then goes on to list the many concerns of using eBooks while also responding to these concerns in a logical manner often times referencing studies that have been done to prove his point. By listing the concerns that people have about using eBooks the audience becomes suddenly concerned about the same issue. The author does this in a very skillful way by answering all of the concerns. When answering some of the concerns the author addresses the issue referencing and citing many scientific studies on the topic. By doing this the author establishes credibility and the audience automatically views the author as knowledgeable on the topic. The author does this when addressing the controversy about studying using paper copy textbooks or studying using eBooks. After reading the paragraph the I personally became more convinced that studying with eBooks might be a good idea. Although this advice does not solely apply to eBooks it is a valid solution. Although, it does worry me that if there are internet crashes there would be no way to access my book. This is very interesting because the author although not clearly stating it, is showing some of the drawbacks of using eBooks. This shows us that nothing is perfect and it also makes the audience think twice about really using an eBook. Many people argue that they need to take notes and mark up their textbooks. They state that this would be impossible on an eBook. The author shows that it is indeed possible to markup take notes etc. This is because of the many features that are included with the eBooks. This was important for resolving another concern that people may have and also goes to show that eBooks can do whatever a paper copy textbook can do. This makes the audience feel more secure about buying an eBook without the technology inhibiting their study methods. In order to make his point clearer the author states some of the negatives about using paper copy textbooks. Since the target audience is college students the author listed the things that would apply to them such as price, weight, accessibility, and
