STRENGTHS

• Simple Use and Function. Dollar Shave Club (DSC) prides itself on having a simple set up to get the razors and facial care you are looking for.
• Little Competition. After the company was started in 2011 out of California, many other companies have followed their formula but not one has matched the originators.
• Low Prices. With good razors being such a hassle to come by and having high expenses, DSC succeeds by offering 3 main razors varying in price from 3$ a month to 9$ a month while shipping additional blades every month or bi monthly.
• Offers more than Razors. DSC has recently started offering more products such as shaving cream, hair gel, shower products, skin care, and even rear end wipes. They also recently released

I have not needed to pay much for their blades and they tend to reach me in a decent time of the month. I always have an abundant amount and have even opted into having a second blade of their highest quality for my work location in case I need to shave there instead. Ever since I first saw their awesome commercial on YouTube, I have always had an interestingly cool look on the company. As shown in their original Dollar Shave Club Commercial (Dollar Shave Club, 2012), which has over 24 million views and boosted their fame instantly, the company has bravado and potential to bring attention to themselves and their company in a very clever way. DSC has definitely shown me it has potential and that it will continue to grow but I will be exploring some of its Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats in this SWOT …show more content…
I have been using the 6 blade razor ever since I started with DSC, but I would always love a closer, smoother shave. Something that they could add to their base 3 razor selection that would peak my interest may see more money out of my pocket and into theirs. I would love to see them expand their core as well as continuing to increase their number of other offered products. They did show in a recent commercial of theirs, their awesome razor ideas. Outlandish yes but eye catching none the less in this outrageous advertisement seen here via YouTube. The point of the commercial is to show the awesome possibilities of a razor and to show you how difficult it can be in selecting the right one, similar to car buying. But DSC makes it simple with their minimal selection of quality razors and they stick by keeping it just that simple. It is also another possibility for DSC to get the customers more involved in these amazingly creative commercials by possibly using real customers in their advertisements just as many other companies have. They have a strong base for sure do to their quick growth and popularity in online social media but they should try to use that more to expand outwards to those who still have somehow missed out on hearing about

Burma Shave and The Dollar Shave club's ad campaigns, while in different centuries, are in many ways very similar. They both came to be in a time where there really wasn't much demand for the product. People were already shaving and had their routines and products they preferred, so instead they both went for the largest problems with shaving at the time trying to change it; Burma with the problem of having to use a brush and lather up the shaving cream, and Dollar Shave Club with the problem of no really good cheap razors for anyone on a budget. They also both used humor at some points in their campaigns, however, Burma Shave went on to use their advertising as a public service with safety messages as well. The campaigns both reached their target audience and became effective in their own times because they used a non-traditional and rather a cheap form of advertisement which actually would…
