Yet, the question is clear, what role does or will the Divine Nine play in influencing policy and displaying activism? Currently, many of the current political leaders on the national seen like Corey Booker, U.S Senator from New Jersey are not afflicted with a Divine Nine organization. That was unheard of 20 years ago, nor is President Barrack Obama. New voices from the street, church and political arena are emerging. Most have no affiliation with the Divine Nine. While it is without question, the Divine Nine remains viable organizations in their respective communities (Graduate chapters)contributing countless hours of time and treasure to uplifting young minds with scholarship and mentor programs, seniors and homeless with transportation and food sources.
