In this Assignment I am going to I will produce the information of two physiological disorders the one which I am going to discuss are diabetes type 1 and stroke. I will include the nature of the disorder, explain the signs and symptoms of the physiological disorders and i will also assess what the possible difficulties involved in the diagnosis can be of the disorder from the signs and symptoms.
Main Body
The first physiological disorder which I am going to look at is diabetes type 1. Type 1 diabetes is a lifelong disorder of glucose control that occurs when autoimmune destruction of beta cells causes a decrease in or the absence of insulin production the pancreatic islets of langerhans. (McConnell, T , 2007)
Diabetes type 1 can occur at any age but is often diagnosed in children, adolescents and young adults. Insulin is a hormone which is produced in the pancreas by beta cells; insulin is needed to move glucose into cells. Inside the cells glucose is stored and is later used for energy. With type 1 diabetes the beta cells either produce little or no insulin, without enough insulin glucose builds up in the blood stream instead of going to the cells. This build up of glucose is known as hyperglycaemia. The body is unable to use the glucose for energy this then leads up to the symptoms of diabetes type 1. The cause of diabetes type 1 is unknown but as diabetes is an autoimmune disorder this occurs when the immune system attacks and destroys healthy body tissue.…
