They do basically what the word says-help people make and keep a healthy diet. This especially helps with diabetics considering they need to be more careful with what they eat and how much of everything they are consuming daily.
Just for the fun of it, I am going to add one more occupation that has to do with diabetics. An ophthalmologist helps to prevent the complications of late-stage eye disease caused by Diabetes. By measuring blood pressure and everything else, they can contribute to an early diagnosis, improved prognosis, and prevention of any complications of the late-stage eye disease.
