Every parents goal os to raise their children to have a better life than they had, that is why parent self-help books are flying of the shelves and ending up on best seller lists. Parents want to know what they can do to raise their children to succeed in the world. Root-Bernstein and Root-Bernstein devote their lives to the study of worldplay and how children’s paracosms are a brilliant method of developing divergent thinking. Parents need to embrace the spirit of the times and nurture and foster creativity in their children. However, raising creative children is no simple tasks, and many of the attributes creative children often require a high tolerance level to manage. Parents need to adjust their family process, how they raise their children, to fit the needs of their children. The family process adults use while raising their children is influenced by their family structure, traditions, and zeitgeist. Runco defines family structure as the tangible attributes of the family including family size and birth order. Elaborating further Runco goes on to say that the structural development of the family is a good predictor of the creative potential of children. For example, larger families tend to have highly creative children, whereas children of smaller families tend to have higher IQ’s (Runco, 2014, p. 50).
