This was shown when Ethan had returned home and Blake was trying to cause destruction to the reestablishment of Ethan back to normality. I judged this that it was just a typical family, where families always argue. Another incident I judged was when Blake was doing a science investigation about genetics, he did research about the shapes of the earlobes in his family. From the investigation, Blake discovered that Ethan’s earlobe is different to those in the photos of him before he was kidnapped. A quote to show this is “He’s fake.” I thought this was just another typical sibling relationship of disliking each other. This theme came in place, when an unusual car turns up and a knock on the door that will twist the plot, not even the characters were expecting. This novel’s storyline is nothing you can guess, it’s unpredictable, creating excitement for the reader. This theme can also relate to everyday life of teenagers, we meet people and judge them by their looks and determine if they are nasty or nice.
