The user.erols website talks about, “Daniel is thus informed that transgression and sin would continue to exist until the establishment of the Messianic kingdom, when everlasting righteousness would finally reign” . The seventy weeks of verse 24 are understood by studying Leviticus 25: 8, where it is explained that a week is seven years. Consequently, seventy weeks make four hundred and ninety years (70 X 7 = 490). Miller also explains in his book, “according to this view, the "sevens" or "weeks" are made up of seven years each, resulting in a total period of 490 years (seventy times seven)” . The 70 weeks are divided into three periods: 7 weeks (49 years) since King of Persia issued a decree in the month of Nisan (April) 445 BC (Nehemiah 2: 1, 5-8), to restore and build Jerusalem. Chapters 4-6 of the book of Nehemiah illustrate how the prophecy of re-establishing the plaza and walls would be fulfilled, even in troublesome times. There are a number of imperative essentials about the first section of this prediction. Daniel’s prophecy concerns the nation of Israel. The Holy City is significant for the end of times. God revealed to Daniel that there would be sixty-nine seven periods, i.e. 483 years, from the time the order to rebuild Jerusalem and the coming of the Messiah, the anointed. I concur with Miller’s description, “Christians have traditionally identified this "Anointed One" as Jesus Christ, who is called in the New Testament both king and priest” . There are differences of opinion as to the exact time the 483 years began. Some say 538 B.C., when Cyrus' decree was issued; this decree; however, was for the rebuilding of the temple, not the city. Most likely it began in 457 B.C. when Ezra returned and began to rebuild the city; that would make that the 483 years ended in 27 AC., around the time when Jesus began his ministry. Jesus has made possible for humanity to be seen just in front of the Father. Jesus has become the only way to the Father. Therefore, I totally believe that the anointed one is Jesus Christ, our Savior. Before Jesus came to earth, humankind has to provide animal sacrifices for their sins to be forgiven, but Jesus Christ with His blood made a new covenant for humanity. He show humanity the best example on how we as human should act during
