In school bullying, the main character is the bully. The bully is the student that may be getting physical or verbally aggressive. They could be yelling, or threatening towards the victim. There are many ways a student can bully another student. The bully will have a negative impact because he or she is being harmful by harassing or targeting a student for social gain. This will have a negative impact on the victim. Another social role I listed in the concept map was the bystander, someone who is present during the time of the bullying. They can either be part of the problem, a person who stands there and watch it happen. They may even participate in the bullying or they could be part of the solution and be a helpful bystander. The helpful bystander will try to stop the situation or go get help. If the bystander decides to join the bully or not do anything. The relationship will be negative because the victim will still feel alone and helpless. If the bystander decides to intervene or go get help, the relationship will be positive because the victim will see that the bystander did get help and think maybe someone does care. The bully and the bystander helped me understand the social issues because it gave me a clear and concise definition on how school bullying evolve. There would be no school bullying without those roles. I have learned if the bully does not have a crowd, then the bully cannot
