A culturally diverse environment makes a health care facility appeal to a wider demographic of patients and a more efficient medical team. Surveys show that employees who feel valued for their unique contribution and individuality within a medical team are likely to seek long term employment. Nonetheless, health care facilities need to have carefully considered and formed diversity guidelines in order to be beneficial (Dillon, S. (n.d.). The low employee retention rate at AHC is a result of a lack in cultural sensitivity and awareness among its staff members. Additionally, this decreases the facility’s patient retention rate.
