Throughout the years, many dangerous and powerful leaders have emerged, conquering their own and others. One such leader is Adolf Hitler. Through using effective evidence, the author of the article, “Could Hitler Happen Again?”, Bryan Brown, shows that, although improbable, another ruler like Hitler could occur again if the right circumstances happened.
Bryan Brown’s main idea of the article is that it is not impossible for there to be another Hitler-like leader, but it would take “a perfect storm” (Brown 21). Numerous events fell in place which allowed Adolf Hitler to rise to power and eventually become the overall dictator he is historically and fatefully known as today. Per the article, the German ruler “would not have risen to power if not for World War I… and its aftermath” (Brown 19). This conveys the chance he had to become a leader, and through taking advantage of the German people through lies, manipulation, and propaganda, Hitler could further accomplish his agenda. It includes plenty of information that tells the reader about the unjust atrocities of events during WWII and the Holocaust, as well as the reasons for them. It proposes the idea of there being another leader like Hitler coming again, but ends on an uncertain note. No one knows when or if it will ever happen. It is not just limited to Hitler either, as it has several facts about Bashar al-Assad, Kim Jong Un, Robert Mugabe, Vladimir Putin, and Omar Hassan al-Bashir. Some of them I did not know much about.
