Authoritarian is where one person or a small group of people try to take over the government and use it to keep them in power and enforce strict laws upon the people they are governing. Then there’s Constitutional Democracy, which is where the power is branched off and then people hold some power of choosing who they want to enforce the laws the people agree on, such as nature rights of life, liberty, and property. It has always been that one group of people who are against it, in order to maintain their power. For example, when the churches had all the power, they wanted to keep it all for themselves and influenced others that god was the answer to everything. When people heard that god wasn’t the answer to everything, the churches began to lose their power, and the common person began to have some hope of a new equal life. Mankind has envisioned a place where everyone would be free.
To have a Constitutional Democracy is to make an agreement. It’s saying that if you obey my laws, I will use those laws to protect your rights. If you don’t obey the laws your rights won’t be protected and you will be held responsible by your actions. If I do not protect your rights, then you do not have to follow my laws. It’s an understanding that both sides agree on. The vision of a Constitutional Democracy is that the people and the ones who are in power will be working together and make their everyday lives better.
In conclusion, I am for Constitutional Democracy. However I do think that Authoritarian does have it’s role in the world. Sometimes people have too much freedom. I feel that thanks to Democracy, people are more cooperative and work with the government and not against it. Constitutional Democracy is a promise that both sides must do their part to
