Another bias impact is due to the halo or horns effect. The halo or horn effect is referred to as the first overall impression of the person’s character is exaggerated by either positive or negative. The recruiters tend to focus on one side impression of the person whether it is negative or positive (Bowen, Ledford & Nathan, 1991). It is also regarded as confirmatory bias, which refers to unintended discernment and use of information. For example, when looking through someone’s CV recruiters may see an applicant who went to a particularly prestigious college with high grade, or had some work experience.
