Numerous times does the ideas of rawness, honesty, and authenticity come up. In regards to Iggy, as the host says: “there is a certain honesty to him that comes right through. With a lot of groups, you can tell it is just an act, but with him (Iggy), you can believe it’s one hundred percent authentic, and maybe that’s what makes Iggy “pop”. – (1 min) In the clips of his performances, he has a style that does come off as raw and “pure”- as one fan claims- , his larger than life character does not seem concerned or wavered by the portrayal of others, and that gives him no need to perfect his act through scripts. Like a film, it relies on authenticity to fully engage the viewer: you cannot “lose” yourself in the music or in the film being reminded that it is not real.
