Ancient Rome was the first real Republic in history and they laid a foundation that the United States would end up following eventually. Rome started a separation of powers when they created the 3 Branches of Government which included 2 consuls, a senate, and an assembly. Today the United States has a similar 3 Branch Government and it includes the legislative branch, the executive branch, and the judicial branch. He thought that it would be easier to lead but it just created more problems for the Romans. People would argue over who should be the leader and it caused a lot of friction. Rome started to decline and they eventually were conquered and the Roman Empire came to an end. America is similar to Rome because we also can not agree on a leader and so we have a lot of friction within our country. If the United States continues on the same path as Rome then there is a chance that the United States could come to an end.
