You have probably heard of the Lewis and Clark expedition. this expedition was very hard and difficult in many ways.they faced many hardships, but in the end they succeeded and changed the life of the united states as we know it.according to national geographic “Lewis Clark Great Journey West”,”to survive was the equivalent in it’s day of a journey to the moon” When president Jefferson asked Meriwether Lewis to lead an expedition out to the rocky mountains. Lewis eagerly accepted the offer, and recruited his old military commander William Clark to help with this mission.on may 14 1804 the crew departed and began their expedition west, where untold challenges and discovery, awaited.
