Their rights were they did not get encouraged to get an education, they obtained to the house and family, did not have the right to vote, after marriage women did not have the right to sign contracts, have their own property, nor were they allowed to keep their own wages. Most women during the colonial did not have many rights. They did not have a choice in anything. Women were the back burner, they didn’t have a say, nor did they get to have a professional career because men had more authority over women. If you think about it now women have the choice to get married, attend college, say what they feel, and women have the right to vote. Women have more authority now then ever; it is nice to have freedom of speech and no one to tell women what to do. By being a women now looking back at it I know it must have been truly hard to not be able to do much like the men. After all the law changes it has came equalized for both genders and now men and women can do so much together or they can do it separately but it is legal now. We as women have a lot of rights to do as much as we can and get the best career for our families and ourselves.
