The preeminent portion of the coaching relationship is the importance of the questions. Author Tony Stoltzfus delineates that questions are the second element of the coaching conversation, the main tool of the coach (Stoltzfus, 2005, p. 176-177). As a coach, questions needed the move the conversation forward. Consequently, leaving the client in charge with open ending answers that bring leisure to the flow and leading to issues that matter most to their progress (Stoltzfus, 2005, p. 181). All questions need to open the conversation while simultaneously gathering additional pertinent information to the goal-driven process.
