A common debate that has been going on for a lifetime is that chivalry is dead. Chivalry is “the medieval knightly system with its religious, moral, and social code.” (Dictionary.com) In other words, doing kind or generous things, usually men being courteous to women. Before, men would do kind things for women with nothing in return just because it was the right thing to do. In modern times, people believe things like this do not exist anymore. I believe chivalry is not dead, it is just hard to find. In the article, “Chivalry Is Dead, and You Killed It”, written by Kira Sabin from Huffington Post, believes nowadays chivalry is dead. “Men do not know what role they play, thus leaving them baffled. They do not know whether they open doors or not? Plan the date? Offer to pay? Take your hand? Go in for the kiss at the end of the date?” by the end of the article Sabin believes women should take the lead instead of waiting for men to be chivalrous. I believe this is not true. Although, it is hard to find men who are chivalrous in today’s world, it is possible. To find these men though, you just have to look in the right places.
