For example, in the text it says, “… I am the weakest, well I know, and of wit feeblest; and the loss of my life would be least of any…” ____ This highlights that Sir Gawain is showing humility by putting himself after others and making them sound better than him. Also in the text it says, “Sir Gawain keeps his pledge for the first two days, but he fails to give the lord the magic green girdle that the lady gives him on the third day.” This points out that Sir Gawain knows he should give the lord the green girdle because he promised to give back what he receives, but instead he keeps it for himself and leaves so he can protect himself from the Green Knight. You need to believe me because I am the only person who truly understands…” This states that although A is supposed to keep what he does a secret he decides to be honest with people and tell them the truth about him even though they might not believe him. Also in the text it says, “At first I think I’ve gone too far. I can feel Rhiannon taking my words, but I don’t know what she is doing with them.” This reveals that A is basically playing with a girl and her feelings. He does eventually stop, but he still did it and that is considered disrespectful. In conclusion, A can be very chivalrous at times, but when reading the book, it its reveals that he can fail to be chivalrous
