It is conspicuous from various studies that the metal based nanoparticles is found to be an effective antimicrobial agent against several common pathogenic microorganisms.(Nanoparticles and potential apps, Biomedical applications,Antimicrobial activities of silver nanoparticles, Green synthesis, A review on plants extract mediated, Antimicrobial Properties).It is multidisciplinary area where in nanotechnology has led to major developments in health and medicine due to the integration the biotechnology in it (heralding new future-jyothi s a bhat). Nanoparticles such as silver, gold, zinc oxide and titanium oxide are being adopted as antimicrobials and additives in various aspects of consumers, health and industrial products(Nanoparticles and potential apps,Green synthesis of AgNPs). Among several noble metal based nanoparticles, silver nanoparticles has procured a special focus as they have a broad spectrum antimicrobial activity against several pathogens and also they are been increasingly incorporated into various matrices to extend their efficacy in biomedical applications.(A review on plants extract mediated). Those particles which are synthesised based on green principle are said to have immense applications in various fields of medicine and biology when compared to the nanoparticles synthesised by chemical protocols involving the use of harsh surfactants or solvents.
