In Everyone Leaves the main character Nieve has to deal with being forced to leave and her heinous father. An example of this Would be when the judge told Nieve she had to live with her father. One piece of evidence to support this would be when her father hit her out of nowhere. Guerra writes, “ It had been 3 days since I went to school. Then my father hit me, out of the blue, and my head smashed against the table. I thought I’d lost an eye”(41). What this evidence shows is that Nieve is still having problems with her dad beating her. Another piece of evidence that shows her being forced to move places was when she had to go to this center for kids. Guerra writes, “ They didn’t let me stay home. My mother didn’t want me to either, which is why I’m at this center for re education of minors”(74).
