“Breast Cancer is the most common cancer among women in Guam and in the United States. Breast cancer leads to be the second cause of cancer-related deaths in women. Every thirteen minutes, a woman dies with the diagnosis of breast cancer. With some research and facts, this has led researchers and doctors to continue studying the history, affects, and risk factors of breast cancer in women. The use of technology, having preventions and screenings in the community will help women in the community to take action and to be cautious of their body.”

Cancer can spread when cancer cells get into the blood or lymph system and are carried to other part of the body (American Cancer Society). Our lymph system has multiple lymph vessels that are found throughout a human’s body that are connected to lymph nodes. Lymph nodes are a small bean-shaped that collects immune system cells. Lymph vessels work to carry lymph fluid away from the breast. While patients with breast cancer, cancer cells are able to enter those lymph vessels and start to grow as lymph nodes around the axillary, supraclavicular and intralocular bones, and internal mammary lymph nodes. However, a lump could be a sign when patients become concerned to get checked, sometimes it may not be the case. Many breast cancers are found on screening mammograms which can detect cancers at an earlier stage often before women notice or feel the lump and symptoms that are developed.
