If one happens to be in the Epsilon caste then they are bound by many more restriction then say an Alpha. Every person in the state is a consumer that only desires food, sex and drugs. As evidently expressed in the following: ““Never put off till to-morrow the fun you can have to-day," she said gravely”. In this quotation the character is referring to a drug called soma. Citizens have become dependant on things such as soma because they have been conditioned by the state to be so ever since they were born. By inducing desires upon citizens they no longer know how to function without them, thus dehumanizing citizens by virtue of eliminating their ability of self-control. Additionally, it’s seen how patriarchy promotes violence through the use of Neo-Pavlovian Conditioning. Openly, the world state tortures toddlers in order to condition their minds to conform to their caste placement. Due their conditioning these infants grow with mindsets that suppress their abilities to achieve anything in life that isn’t predetermined by the state.
