In Beowulf, I found myself idolizing over the strong and fearless hero. He was what I would call “the perfect hero”, because not only did he get the job done, but he did it so with honor and modesty. In some cases it reminded me of the movie Hercules, where Hercules tried to show off as much as possible and show that he was better than everyone else to gain fame. While Beowulf used his famous strength to help those in need not to just gain fame, but because he knew he was undoubtedly the only one who could help.…

Beowulf had many great and heroic events in his life but does him saving the Geats from Grendel really make him a Hero? Beowulf in the story says he hears the Geats singing all the way in Denmark but how could someone hear from that far away? Unless he had the perfect hearing no one would hear so clearly. We still have to give a little credit for Grendel it takes a lot of work being a “Monster.”…

The story of Beowulf follows the Geatish hero through his various adventures, elaborating about each event and battle. Beowulf, the great epic hero of the story, fits the mold of the typical hero in most epic poems. Just like the hero’s in other tales, Beowulf has several of the qualities it takes to become a great hero such as strength and honor, but also possesses a tragic flaw that ultimately leads to his death. Beowulf, along with Odysseus, Achilles, and Gilgamesh, are all epic heroes and all epic heroes generally have some of the same qualities as each other. Wisdom, loyalty, pride, and courage are all great examples.…

Beowulf is a story of a noble hero named Beowulf who has superhuman strength that he use to fight his enemy. The story is quite interesting because he fights his enemy naked. What I don’t like about the story is the author used the concept of Paganism vs. Christianity, like in the line “we don’t need God, we need a hero”. But in the other hand, the story has also the concept of Good vs. Evil, like in the scenes when Beowulf fight monsters to save the life of many people. I think it was a good idea to use this themes to balance the story and to make the story more interesting.…

Throughout history epic battles between hero’s and villains have been told and reconstructed. The “good guy” or the hero, always beats the “bad guy” the villain, and they are traditionally two separate beings. Yet, now day it is becoming more and more common for the hero and villain war to be found in the same individual. As the world gets more corrupt, and as evils more easily finds its way to the common people, the battle now resides within those individuals. Within each individual there is a constant battle between hero and villain and it is up to them to decide which will prevail; the hero destined for greatness or the villain doomed to fail.…
