While I never heard of their story, it surprised me that four women could be wrongfully convicted of an act that was so oblivious that they didn’t commit.
In the last story, I learnt more about the Pulse Nightclub Shooting in 2016. I learnt that 23 of 49 individuals that were murdered were Puerto Rican. During the story, I didn’t know that the LGBTQIA community faced lots of hate and non-acceptance from their family, media and their culture.
What I liked how these stories is the wide array of topics that were covered and the difference perspectives that are showed in each story. I also liked how the topics sexuality and gender identity in individuals whose ages varied greatly. I enjoyed listening to these stories because they featured individuals were overcome great struggles because of their gender individual and sexuality.
While I enjoyed the stories featured, I wished that the podcast would have three longer stories compared to four relatively short stories. I think that by covering three stories vs. four, the reporters will be able to dive deeper in each topic and will be able to give listeners a wide perspective on the issue at hand. There was nothing in this podcast episode that I wish they would
