LGBTIQA + In Law Enforcement And The Police Department: Case Study

On Monday March 7th an ally training was hosted in the student lounge located in Founders Hall. This training was about LGBTIQA+ in law enforcement and with law enforcement. Two criminal justice majors (Jacob and Anthony) lead this discussion. Anthony began by discussing LGBTIQA+ in law enforcement and touched on how there are very few members of the LGBTIQA+ community in the law enforcement profession. Jacob then discussed a separate, yet similar topic in regards to the relationship between the LGBTIQA+ community and law enforcement. He touched on how comfortable the LGBTIQA+ community felt with law enforcement, like weather or not they felt that they could go to law enforcement if a crime was committed on them or in general if they felt comfortable
