Gay Nightclub: Poem Analysis

When I first heard about this event in the news, I immediately felt a personal connection to the victims and their families. The hatred and anger that was portrayed through the killer, was simply terrifying for me. The fact that he had was so hurt emotionally to senselessly murder forty-nine persons in a gay nightclub was an act of terrorism and a hate act. So when I was thinking of a topic to write about, I began to think about anything that impacted me emotionally, and this event was the first thing to come to mind. I felt as if I could provide closure and guidance for anybody emotionally connected to this event through my poetry. So that other people reading my poem could understand the inner dialogue and mindset that the killer had at the

In knowing that some teenagers are not told about the dangers of drinking and driving, the part of the poem that reads “Someone should’ve taught him that it’s wrong to drink and drive.
