“Asperger Syndrome is a neurobiological disorder on the higher-functioning end of the autism spectrum.” In the book “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time” a young kid named Christopher Boone is faced with many challenges that cause him to use his disorder to overcome these challenges. This book has caused people to be more aware of kids with Aspergers and shows them that how kids with this disorder think and feel in troubled times. The author, Mark Haddon, makes Christopher out to be a strong and brave boy because of how he uses his disorder to think through his problems logically and to make the right choice.
“One of the things with Asperger's is that oftentimes, these people have a very complex inner life, and I know for myself, I have a very colorful personality, rich ideas, and just a lot going on in my mind. But there's a gap between where that stands, and how I communicate it to the rest of the world. And this can make basic communication a challenge.” This was said by a woman who has used her disorder as a major advantage in her life. People who have Asperger’s have a very complicated mind. They cannot understand emotions so they do not know how people are reacting.
