The world and our history would be completely different if the U.S didn 't bomb the Japanese to end WWII. Many believe that the bombing was unnecessary and could of been resolved different ways, i believe otherwise. To save American lives and our way of life, Japan gave us no choice but to swiftly end the war, by bombing Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

Before I explain why the Atomic bomb was absolutely needed in order to end the war I must first explain the background and history of the project. Two years after World War II had started Germany was already ahead in the race for the atomic bomb. They were so far ahead because they possess high grade uranium compounds which is vital step in making the bomb. Also they had very capable scientists and engineers, and the greatest chemical engineering industry in the world. This made the United States very concerned with the nuclear threat of Germany and the axis powers. The idea of the Germans studying and developing the bomb was initiated by Albert Einstein on August 2, 1932. When he wrote president Roosevelt a letter saying the Germans were trying to purify Uranium 253 and could be used to make an atomic bomb.

Roosevelt took Einstein 's warning very seriously, He knew he had to build the atomic weapon before Germany or Japan did. He took action by organizing a research committee within a month.
