People are being sent to jail like teens and adults for no major reasons. For example, teens are sent to jail for having possession of drugs and are sentenced for fifteen years behind bars or by the color of their skin and appearance when there are more serious and life threatening individuals who out of nowhere begins to murder or assault individuals for no reason what so ever. These are the people who should really be behind bars and not teens they do not do anything aggressive, unless being provoked. The prisons are being over stocked with people how perform nonviolent accusations than actual assaults that brake the norms but not in catastrophic way. There are millions of people in the United States how are living behind bars today. Most of the population are serving their sentence even though there was no physical act upon anyone. According to “Essentials of Sociology: A Down-To-Earth Approach” by James M. Henslin “there are 49.2% if men and 50.8% of woman behind pars who are over the age of eighteen in U.S population scale” (178). That means that half of the population are in jail right now and my educated guess of one third of males and females are nonviolent or drug possession and this are the street crimes. White collar crimes on the other hand are more dangerous because there are more deaths than street crime and we Americans pay taxes that goes to the prisons witch cost over 600 billion dollars a year to keep their facilities open and there are even teenagers that the prisons as
