(Dougan, Weiss) The Vietnam War is classified as a lost war as the United States were withdrawn from South Vietnam and the North Vietnamese forces were able to take over Vietnam as a whole, losing the prime objective of the U.S.; failing the Containment Policy. As the soldiers came home with Post Traumatic Stress, disabling injuries and a sense of hopelessness; the veterans had a difficult time readjusting to society and the receiving of acceptance from their loved ones. Although the protesters labeled the soldiers as “cold hearted murderers” and “ignorant dupes”, they haven’t fully understood the actions of what the soldiers had to do in Vietnam as the public received mediated information about the war and think that the soldiers would bomb and now down innocent Vietnamese lives.
