There is one argument that overly sensitive people are ruining the education system (“Attack of the Crybullies”). There is another argument that safe spaces do not exist in the real world (“Into the Real World”). Lastly, there is the argument that trigger warnings are pointless because they are made by people who get offended easily (“Life is Tough”). While the third argument does have some merit, all of these arguments together are one-dimensional and do not attempt to understand how the other side feels. There are many different reasons as to why trigger warnings are important just like there are many different things that can trigger someone. There are people who do not have the satisfaction of being able to recover from a traumatic experience quickly and then being able to withstand being in an environment that openly discusses similar experiences without any form of a warning. There is a reason why its name is trigger warning, to protect people from reliving these experiences instead of carelessly disregarding
