School segregation is not equal. For example, "the segregated schools may have been similar in buildings, busses, and teachers, but the ones for all-black students were much lower quality" (Street Law, Inc.). This demonstrated how separating students is not equal. Children go to school to learn, and it makes it really hard to do that if the classroom walls are falling apart, and the teachers aren't doing their job. In addition, "black kids had to travel long distances to get to school" (Street Law, Inc.). This shows unjust segregation. White students are able to go to a school that is near their house so that they don’t have to go far, but black students have to walk miles every day to get to an African American school when there is a white school just down the street.
