people? There was segregation within not only the school system but a plethora of
places just as well as restaurants, water fountains, buses, etc. These places and things
were segregated due to the Jim Crow time. Why is places still segregated? Didn’t the
Brown v. Board of Education case say that segregation has to stop in school systems?
Segregation was a huge factor and still is a huge factor regardless of what the court
case decision was. What is so important about segregation, it has to be stopped
immediately for all Americans.
In May of 1945, the landmark case of Brown v. Board of Education came about in
Topeka, Kansas. Based on the 1896 Plessy v. Ferguson …show more content…
From the years of 1930’s all the way up until now in 2016, there is still
separation not only based on color but location and brains (how smart they are
compared to others) as well. School is school so therefore education should be
accessed by anyone who wants to take advantage of it.
Location holds a huge part on the different varieties of schools. The Brown v.
Board of Education court case said that every student no matter what the reason shall
be that every school shall be desegregated. Within Tuscaloosa nearly 1 in 3 black
students attend desegregated schools while others are still in all black schools. Why are
these students treated so differently? What makes the black students/kids so different
from the whites when it comes down to education? Also within the area of North
Carolina such as Enfield, Weldon, and Roanoke Rapids location is an issue as well
even though some may not realize it.
The segregation comes about when majority white’s schools is within an area
where majority of blacks are living and they cannot even go there. Just because these
children live in a rough neighborhood, they should not get knocked for not attending …show more content…
If the student does not still understand the material given from
the teacher they can always go to their fellow classmates who knows the material well
because people in the same age range can help better than any other person. Parents
also hold responsibility to help their children at home with homework and to tell them to
read something a few minutes each day to get better.
Color plays apart in segregation as a whole. Legal segregation started in 1896 in
the Supreme Court case in the ruling H.A. This made it legal for whites to be separated
to be separated from the blacks and only towards the blacks. The American people
never lived up to the Declaration of Independence document either. The DOI document
said that “all men are created equal” which was not lived up to in the time of
segregation. If it was there would be no such thing as the Jim Crow laws. The Jim Crow
laws back in () was allowed as long as the facilities had similar services provided to the
blacks. The NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of the Colored People)
was held by Charles Hamilton Houston at the beginning of 1930 which he paved a way
for public education.
Charles was the one who made the first NAACP attack on racial
