In both passages “Biographies of Hegemony” by Karen Ho and “The Naked Citadel” by Susan Faludi, there are two higher institutions, which would be Wall Street and the Citadel whose goal is to “remold” an individual to fit their criteria. Each individual has a certain identity and presents themselves in a specific way. People are known to change due to influences on their everyday lives, which eventually changes their identities into someone completely different. In these two passages, it becomes evident that because of the pressures put upon people by these hierarchies, people unconsciously change and are shaped into new individuals while hiding their true identities. Argumentative essay Samuel Newitt Wood is one of the founding fathers of the state of Kansas, and in particular Chase County, Kansas. Wood contributed a lot to the development of the territory, and eventually the state of Kansas. Wood does not have a memorial, and is not recognised as a prominent citizen of Kansas. He is deserving of a monumental plaque to commemorate his contributions to Kansas. Samuel Newitt Wood was a true hero who put Chase County on the map and not only spoke his beliefs of a free Kansas, the right for women to vote, anti-corruption, but truly lived his beliefs if even it it meant ridicule or loss of life.…

A 7-2 majority ruled on the case of Dred Scott v. Sanford, citing a wide variety of constitutional grounds for support. One of the weakest arguments of this case was the argument for Dred Scott not being able to be classified as a citizen. As a result, he was not subject to the full right of freedoms and due process of law. Taney wrote that slaves lacked sovereignty and that they were not intended to be included by the framers of the Constitution (5). Every time my family goes to my grandparents house, I’ll always see this little make-shift shack made out of ply-wood and crates and barrels. Even these strangers know the difference between authentic and processed. Although book characters aren't the same as vegetables and pumpkins, they do have an obvious difference between authentic and phony.…

Andrew Jackson has expressed many of his concerns relating to the removal of the “Indians” and it has caught my attention. What made my brain whirl with confusion was when Jackson stated “And is it supposed that the wandering savage has a stronger attachment to his home than the settled, civilized Christian?” This quote could possibly be the number question that states the mindset of many Native Americans because in order for the present American came to be, land must be stripped, lives must be lost, treasured must be stolen. The way people’s mind work is different and this can be due to greed for gold or power. When the Native American’s home was taken away, they cannot feel happy to have their peace disturbed and have their loved ones murdered.…
