It makes it try to seem that everything is perfect and that nothing is wrong. In the article “Haiti in crisis” by Bryan Brown and Patricia Smith they are telling us all the things that are going not very well. The Giver was about how the citizens needed a perfect world to live in and so they created one. They had rules in the community so everything would be fair and they wouldn’t repeat history. In the article “Haiti in crisis” it was about Haiti and all the problems that they are facing financially, and economically. With all that information that the book and article …show more content…
In The Giver everyone has a job. They get an assigned job that best suits them. Everyone has enough money to take care of their family (Lowry). They all have the same amount of money and all have a job because they don’t want anyone to struggle and to be in pain mentally. In “Haiti in crisis” many people can’t afford the necessary objects they need and more than 40% of the population in Haiti are unemployed (Brown & Smith). This just says that not many of the people are able to get a job and that not many people earn that much money to help themselves and their family. In The Giver everyone has a house and know one is on the street. Everyone has the same living conditions so no one is out on the streets (Lowry). They want everything to be the same and for no one to be left out and they also don’t want anyone to be living in poor conditions and wants everyone to be safe in a house. In Haiti many people are out on the streets because they can’t afford a nice house or even just shelter of somesort. Many are poor and can’t get a job and now don’t have money to buy a house (Brown & Smith). Sometimes the government provide enough jobs and Haiti is a 3rd world country. They need somewhere that they all make money, have a house, and can get a

In The Giver everything was the same nothing happened there were no changes and everyday would be the same. But, in The Assignment Rescue nothing was ever the same and anything could change causing everyone to get caught. The other people in the community, though, don't get to experience true life because some of the key things in life have been taken away from them. The text says, “Suddenly he perceived the word for it: sunshine,” (Lowry, 85). This represents the people in the community and how they don’t even receive sunlight which is sad, not delightful. Also, the sun is warm, colorful, and “joyful,” so it is terrible that the people take it away because it can make them more unhappy. In conclusion, The Giver has to do with equality and how they don’t receive lots of freedom, which is causing…
