Many people need help managing their social skills, emotions, education and behavior and the answer to managing them lies in music. Many people wonder where music therapists work “music therapists work in a variety of clinical settings, including but not limited to psychiatric settings, general hospitals, skilled nursing and intermediate care homes, child and adolescent treatment centers, schools, and forensic and correctional centers” (“Music Therapy”). It is fairly easy to get help through music therapy if you know where a hospital, school, correctional center, or nursing home is. People with less serious conditions can seek other solutions. According to Daniel Levitin, a neuropsychologist and professor, people can use music to help their mental stability without using music therapy, It’s called a music intervention. The difference between music therapy and a music intervention is that music therapy requires a licensed therapist and a psychology degree while a music intervention is much more simple. All a music intervention is is listening to music as a tool to calm you or someone else down. Once someone gets involved in music therapy and get’s help, their life will start changing for the
