Music is termed as sound that is organized using melody or rhythm. If you bang something making in a rhythmic way, then you are making music. Music has pitch, rhythm, and timbre. People have loved music since the Stone Age. People in the Stone Age made music from trying to imitate sounds that occurred naturally. This kind of music is also found these days. Animals use music to guard their territories. Song birds and monkeys are good at this. Music is a language for all humans where normal language is of little use. Music is closely related to mood. Mood is basically the internal state of feeling. It is related to emotions, but you cannot express mood the same way you do with emotions. Mood does not have an outward target like emotions. Specific types of music induce specific kinds of moods (Richard Coyne, 2016, pg. 12). Music therapy is common today, though it has been used for centuries now. These sessions are very important to people who need therapy because it restores energy, help in body healing, and improve mood. Singing or chanting through a song is also therapeutic. It helps in relaxing the nervous system and makes you feel energized.
In conclusion, music is a safe way to improve your mood. You do not have to buy the expensive drugs which are used to enhance your mood or make you feel relaxed. It is a cheap way to control your emotions. A better mood is associated with better life. People in good mood experienced improved health and they are able to relate well with other people. Their behavior is enhanced and this could also give you a higher income.
Any type of music can make you feel more joyful, calm, friendly, relaxed, and happy. There are a lot of genres in music which have different effects on your mood.
