A hero is someone who does what’s right, no for the reward, but for the benefit of the positive outcome. Heroes are needed in many situations. A world full of villains and no heroes would be out of control. The action doesn’t need to be very big, but as long as they’re helping, they’re a hero. Heroes are NOT people who hurt you. Heroes do things for the better.

They can be helping another person in danger, or someone who helps another person who needs confidence to go on with life’s hard acts. The military men and women who defend our country go through a lot of risks and sacrifices to maintain the safety of the United States. They’re risk takers, strong, selfless, and sacrificial. They’re on the edge of death while going out and fighting. They’re separated from their loved ones for long periods at a time and most often don’t see them. They risk their lives with fighting, and will probably will witness death. Death isn’t something most people are OK with seeing and all the gunshots and screams will often stay in their minds. Another heroic example is Anna, a mother and wife who is diagnosed with cancer. She’s often suffering and in agony but she still holds a strong, high head and helps her family remain as normal as possible. She was described as strong, courageful, determined, kind, and helpful. Her daughter, Monica, said that she always kept on a smile even in her worst times. “My mother fights for her life everyday.
