1. Should there be an appeal process for a nonunion grievance procedure? If so, what kind?
Yes, appeal process is required as the Managers need to be aware of the work environment in which the employees are working. They also need to make sure that the changes they make should benefit both the employees and the company such as the productivity and efficiency. In order to achieve this, the employee should first discuss the problem orally with the immediate supervisor, making every effort to reach a suitable resolution of the problem.
2. How do nonunion and union grievance proceedings differ?
The difference between the union and the nonunion grievance proceedings, the union represents the employee in the union setting; the employee represents him or herself in a nonunion setting. Management makes the decision in a nonunion setting, not an arbitrator.
