Moulin de la Galette was painted by Pierre Auguste Renoir, completed in 1876. Bathers at Asnieres was painted by Georges Seurat, completed in 1884. Both paintings were created by French painters Moulin de la Galette and Bathers at Asnieres are similar by color scheme but differentiate by detail and mood.
The technique of the artworks contrast noticeably. The Moulin de la Galette has no open space. They cover the canvas with people, all doing different things. Some people are dancing, while others are mingling, and eating. The artstyle is very blurred and messy, things are happening very quickly in the artwork. The Bathers at Asnieres has a lot of open space, which gives it a natural more relaxed feeling. The style of this artwork is very detailed, even a single blade of grass can be seen. You can see the details in people’s faces, and the stillness of the water. Value in the artwork is also noticeable, you can see the shadows of where the sun does and does not hit everyone. The technique contrasts a lot, but the color between the artworks are fairly the same.

The use of dark orange can also be found in similar areas of each painting such as on the scalp of the focal points and on accenting points of the trees. The shades of the colors are the only difference between the pieces yet the contrast is still minute. The colors in the artworks are related, but the detail is very
