As part of my intent to run for Sheriff, I would like to take this opportunity to share my platform with the voters of Culpeper County.

In this great country, there are battles between the haves and the have not 's, the criminals and the law abiders, the strong and the weak, the right and the left, the believers and the non-believers, gun owners, and those that are anti-gun, those for marijuana legalization, and those against. The list is never ending. There is no perfect solution that will fix all of these issues. There is no perfect solution that will ensure all parties are 100% satisfied. You are then left to decide where you stand, and how you will participate in life from day to day. Regardless of which side of the fence you choose, there are a few constants to be considered by each and every person. I believe the relevant constants in these issues are Courage, Character, and Community. I would like to take a few minutes to explain how these three words will empower the citizens of this County, as well as those in my office. These constants will develop, protect, and guide this County forward when I am elected Sheriff.

Courage has been defined as: "The ability and willingness to confront fear, pain, danger, uncertainty, or intimidation" or "strength of mind to carry on in spite of risk." Both of these definitions can easily define what is needed in order to serve and protect Culpeper County. It takes mental courage to make decisions that are right and ethical. It takes mental and emotional courage to stand strong in the face of tyranny and injustice. It takes mental, emotional and psychological courage to get up every day, get dressed, go to work and serve
