Global market capitalism strikes the root of the poor people’s anxious lives who suffer from worldwide economic slump, non-regular workforce, and the rat race. Annawadi is a slum of Mumbai in India and is surrounded by the airport and five splendid hotels. It is hard for Annawadians to get jobs in the big city so they dig up waste and sell recyclable trash for living. As a result, corruption is everywhere across public security, education, medical care, legislation that should protect the public in India. The corruption in the government offices creates a bigger corruption in society as a whole. As corruption is rampant in India, morality disappears and people do their utmost to survive to find their ways in desperate lives and do not feel bad about becoming selfish if necessary. They do not complain about the problem of capitalistic system because they know there is nothing weak individuals can do to fix the structural problem. Annawadians do not complain but resign themselves to their fate. They do not doubt if the existing system is perfect but they rather admit that the rich get richer because they worked very hard.
