A Dream of China is a narrative story, filled with what an Asian story should have – eastern values, familial relationships, etc. It follows the life of a woman who grew up listening to stories about China. Spiritual is something that relates or affects the human spirit or soul as opposed to material or physical things while materialism a tendency to consider material possessions and physical comfort as more important than spiritual values.
