Yotam Ottolenghi, once said “A well-made salad must have a certain uniformity, it should make perfect sense for those ingredients to share a bowl.” Relating this to today’s society and how America and those who live in America are more their own person being individual and diverse. Our country is a salad bowl meaning all of the races have their differences and cultures which make them diverse, but we still are a unified country. In reality, they do get new opportunities and freedoms but many times their culture and race are not accepted. Many classify being different as “weird”, so they try to assimilate or encourage uniformity and conformity so everyone can be alike, which is not what many had in mind when moving to America to live the “American Dream”.
