Allegiant Book Reports

Throughout the books Allegiant by Veronica Roth and The Longest Ride by Nicholas Sparks, love is present. I have read through the end of the book Allegiant, and part of The Longest Ride. Throughout Allegiant Tris and Tobias had developed an unconditional love for each other, but when Tris decides to take her brother’s place so he does not get killed, things change. While on the mission, Tris gets shot and passes away. Tobias does not find out until a little while later, and is very sad and angry, so he tries to take the memory serum to erase Tris from his mind, but Christina stops him which causes a discrepancy between them. Tris, Tobias and the others throughout the whole book, the whole idea was to retrieve the memory serum in order to save the population. Caleb decided to risk his life in order to stop Evelyn from using the Memory Serum and wiping everyone’s memory, but Tris took his spot because she know she could never walk her own brother to his death. While on the mission, Tris gets shot and dies. When Tobias finds out, he takes out the Memory Serum and is about to use it, but luckily, Christina stops him. She says to him, “You can’t become the person she would hate” (Roth 505). This proves that Tobias had lost so many people in his life and was going through such a hard time, he was willing to take a dose of the Memory Serum, the Serum they had been working on to retrieve, so he could forget about Tris and everything that had just happened. But Christina knew that Tris was what his life was centered around. She had changed him into the person he is today, “And I know Tris changed you even more” (Roth 507). This proves that Christina didn’t want him to change, she liked the person he had became, and it was almost like Tris was still with them. Ultimately, Christina knew how important Tris was to Tobias, and she could never let him forget about
